The Centre for Human Rights of the University of Zurich (UZHR) is an interdisciplinary scientific network that fosters and coordinates research, teaching, and knowledge transfer in the field of human rights.

The Centre's primary focus is on Human Rights and Business as part of responsible business conduct, particularly the integration of human rights standards in economic activities of both public and private actors.

The Centre contributes to the realisation of human rights with its core activities:

  • Interdisciplinary academic research
  • Development of respective policies
  • Services and education: Substantiation and «translation» of human rights standards to be operationalised in practice.

By bringing together researchers from social and natural science, the Centre provides a stimulating environment for research and serves as a forum for exchange between the business sector, government and civil society.
